Behind the Scenes

Our Story & Passion

MountainWay Treks was born from a deep love for Tasmania's pristine wilderness and a desire to share these magnificent landscapes with adventurers from around the world. Our journey began over fifteen years ago with a small group of passionate mountaineers who recognized the untapped potential of Tasmania's alpine regions. What started as weekend expeditions with friends has evolved into a comprehensive adventure tourism company that sets the standard for mountain trekking experiences in Australia.

Every trek we organize is meticulously planned to balance challenge with safety, adventure with education, and excitement with environmental responsibility. Our team spends countless hours scouting routes, assessing conditions, and developing programs that cater to various skill levels. We believe that mountain trekking is more than just physical exercise – it's a transformative experience that connects people with nature, builds character, and creates lasting memories.

Behind every successful expedition is a dedicated support team working tirelessly to ensure your adventure runs smoothly. From our logistics coordinators who manage equipment and supplies, to our safety officers who monitor weather patterns and trail conditions, every member of the MountainWay family plays a crucial role. We invest heavily in training, equipment maintenance, and ongoing education to ensure that we consistently deliver world-class experiences that exceed expectations.
